How it didn’t go forward as I’d hoped…

I have written and rewritten a post at least 5 times over the past few days. It was a “completion” of a draft I’d had in the wings.

It has been awful. Tears, exhaustion, frustration, confusion. And I have this verse on repeat in my head:

“For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.” Ephesians 6:12 (HCSB)

If it doesn’t get you riled up to read those words as a believer, you are like me — maybe experiencing a little of the “familiarity breeds contempt,” which is an incredibly dangerous attitude to have especially as I can personally feel the battle within me! So I challenge myself and read it in The Passion Translation, or even the Amplified or First Nations Version in order to wake me up and make me think.

Tomorrow I go to the Heritage Market in Draper, Virginia, USA with my journal. I know I’m going to need to lean on God and His Strength tomorrow (for one thing, it’s cold! And the snow isn’t helping!), but also, I need to be awake to how Holy Spirit is moving tomorrow.

And I know I’ll write, create, paint, build, love — I’ll do it all again another day.

God bless you all!
